In his first solo exhibition, artist Y. Malik Jalal grapples directly with Mobile’s history as a port city, utilizing memorabilia and photography from Cleon Jones, Tommie Agee, and Africa Town. The artist will be back to talk about his creative process, the materials he uses, and the aesthetic of black radicalism.
Talk starts at 6:00 PM, no entrance after 6:10 PM. Talks at Alabama Contemporary are free for members. $5 admission applies otherwise.
