Amphibians are truly underappreciated in Alabama’s wildlife, yet they make up a huge part of the herpetofauna. The Southeast United States has an astounding number of species of amphibians, and we may remember our early biology lessons of the life cycles of frogs. Who doesn’t love a tadpole, or find it amazing they go from fat blips to legged hoppers? We will also be giving some love to our native lizard species, from lime green Anoles to a type of lizard commonly misidentified as a snake. This one will be a fun meeting for the kids (and for the young herper at heart).
